Palworld's Early Access launch reviewed by Travis Northup on Xbox, also available on PC.
The version of Palworld on Xbox and the Microsoft Store might not be nearly as polished as the Steam version, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t still a ton of fun. Performance is obviously worse, the audio issues are glaring, you won’t be able to nickname your beloved Pals, and you’re limited to a much smaller group of friends. All of that adds up to an experience that is indisputably worse, but I was at least able to look past the vast majority of these bumps in the road with relative ease, because underneath it all is the same awesome survival game that I haven’t been able to put down. Given time, I fully expect the Xbox-specific issues to get cleaned up as this Early Access dark horse continues to evolve – until then, Xbox players still have a solid game on their hands.
Note: This review is specifically for the versions of Palworld available on Xbox and through the Microsoft Store on PC. If you haven’t seen our review of the Steam version, go check that out first! Nearly everything we said there still applies to this review, which will instead focus specifically on what’s different with these versions.
